The Sacred River

The Seine River (and it’s watershed) is part of the larger Red River Basin which ends up in Lake Winnipeg. The health of the Seine River can be directly affected by anything that occurs on land. The Seine-Rat River Conservation District with support from the Province of Manitoba, has made it their mandate to support and promote the sustainable management of the land, water and related resources in this region.

Impacts of past and current practices within the watershed are discussed in the documentary, and several major projects benefitting the waterway are highlighted. This film explores the state of the Seine River and the people who work diligently to promote its stewardship.
